Foundation Forest

I was lucky enough to find these photographs the other day. This was a corridor display called the Foundation Forest. It was done several years ago by Nursery and Reception children over a week -Arts Week. It took a lot of work to put it together but I think it looks fab.

The children spent some time going on walks looking for signs of Autumn and collected leaves, acorns, conkers etc.

We printed with real leaves, collaged with Autumn colours onto leaf shaped paper. The children wanted to make a tractor which we made out of  3 cardboard boxes.

We made hibernating hedgehogs from cutting and gluing brown art straws onto brown hedgehog shaped construction paper with shiny black noses and badgers from white paper plates and black collage materials.

Mister Scarecrow is watching our root vegetables in the field. No pesky crows are going to pinch our carrots, beetroot and turnips!
